I have very exciting news! Thanks to all your efforts and all your signatures - last week I got to meet with the Minister for International Development Desmond Swayne MP at the House of Commons. It was a really big moment for me - to get the opportunity to ask one of the people in charge of UK aid what more the Government can do to help Yazidi girls kidnapped by ISIS. He took the meeting very seriously and brought along staff from the Department of International Development who work on Iraq policy to listen to my concerns. I told him what was happening to Yazidi girls in Northern Iraq and how little help or aid they were getting. I told him that the girls need more medical and psychological help. He listened carefully. At the end of the meeting I asked him what he will do now he has heard my story and received the petition. He said that he would be reviewing the aid we send to Iraq to check how much was really getting to Yazidi girls who need it. And he said he would report back and respond in full to the petition. He was amazed by how many signatures I had! For so long I have been trying to get people to listen to what is happening to my friends back home in Iraq, it was amazing to be heard. I was so happy after the meeting. And it's all down to everyone of you who signed my petition, so thank you! The campaign continues to make sure Yazidi girls get the help they need, but this week we took a huge step forward. Thank you! Rozin
