Hi everyone

Last week we were in touch to let you know that the Government plan to ratify the Istanbul Convention in the coming weeks, but have decided to opt out of providing life saving support for migrant women. We need your help to change this.

Email your MP and ask them to attend our event on 8 June and call for support for migrant women when they ratify the Istanbul Convention.

Thank you so much if you’ve already emailed your MP to invite them. Will you help by asking a friend to do the same? https://icchange.co.uk/take-action

Migrant women across the country are not safe. The Government’s lack of action has already put thousands of women at risk. Women like Phoenix, who told us,

“It all started in 2015 when I met a man through my family. He was here in England and I was in Brazil…In 2018, I arrived here with my eldest son who had just turned 5 at the time, and with so many dreams…But all of my dreams, plans and expectations became a sad and endless nightmare.

Each day that passed was worse than the previous one. He came home drunk in the late hours and his behaviour towards me became more and more violent

I felt trapped, like a wounded and helpless animal. No job, no money, with no immigration status, not speaking English, nothing…My joy of living was gone. And I found myself talking to death several times."

We need MPs to take action.

Ask your MP to attend our Parliamentary photo call and together let’s put an end to violence against all women for good. #AllWomenMeansAllWomen

Thank you for your ongoing support.
