After all the leaks over last weekend we were beginning to feel that pubs and pints were moving into a better place as far as govt was concerned. We were hearing about 22nd June for re-opening, and the relaxation of the hugely destructive 2m distancing rule which would make 70% of pubs unable to re-open.

As this week has unfolded however, the government has u-turned in the face of polls which continue to show - as of yesterday for example - that 56% of the population think we should preserve the 2m rule.

So it is more vital than ever that we sign and share this petition to tell government that publicans, restaurateurs, night club managers etc are best placed to keep their customers and staff safe. And that we need to get them re-opened absolutely as soon as possible to prevent further damage to communities and to the economy.
