Dear all, THANK YOU for supporting this e-petition. We now have over 7.000 signatures. You'll also have seen the current work by the Guardian [http://www.theguardian.com/end-fgm] and doubtless have already signed the change.org e-petition to demand education about FGM in schools (if not, do please consider doing so). A new development is that Keith Vaz MP and his Home Affairs Select Committee have been receiving evidence (including a submission from me... and maybe some of you; I'd be very interested to know?) about why the current FGM legislation is not having effect. Can I suggest therefore that this is an excellent time to continue the push to get support for our e-petition here? The media will be watching to see what happens next, and obviously we need to emphasise as much as possible how important it is to uphold UK law, and so save girls' futures and even lives.
