Another DVSA U-Turn

It seems the expected DVSA U-Turn on testing and training is now underway with test slots opening up across all Tier 1 and 2 regions for tomorrow, and 5 tests a day in tier 3 regions from Thursday all being seen available on the online booking system and confirmed by the DVSA call centre. 

This seems to have caught "your trade association" and "Tier 1 Stakeholder" NASP (who keep telling us they've been diligently consulting away with the DVSA in the background since lockdown) completely by surprise, as judging by the news releases this afternoon none of them knew anything about it. 

As usual we question the effectiveness of NASP, when they aren't even consulted by the industry regulator on the most important question currently facing ADIs - when we can return to work, and that you can find out more from a call centre operator than the self proclaimed industry trade association knows.

And isn't it about time the DVSA did something about the 2 year period for PDIs? Hundreds are having to abandon their careers or start all over again because they haven't been able to get the tests in in time or have the full number of attempts not to mention all the learners that originally had tests booked for the 2nd of December, that the DVSA cancelled, and may be waiting months now for a new test. Shouldn't they get some priority booking?

We wait with baited breath for the official DVSA email this evening telling everyone what we now already know, and as usual containing no explanations or apologies, which will be followed shortly before or after by a NASP press release telling us the same thing.
