It's the DVSA Hokey Cokey
If anyone ever needed more persuasion of the need for an independent enquiry into the DVSA this must be it.
Since testing resumed the DVSA seem to be going out of the way to demonstrate they are unfit for purpose.
"Bring your theory test certificate", "Don't bring it", "Only bring if we tell you to" , "The booking email tells you to bring it, but that doesn't mean we're actually telling you to bring it, unless we tell you to bring it".
Got all that?
"Practical test bookings are open", "closed", "open again with a queue of 100,000", "closed again", "open again", "closed again to update the card payment method".
"Instructors can use the online booking system", "can't use it and will have access removed if they do use it", "now you can use it again", "now you can't and any bookings made will be cancelled"
Still it's not the fault of the DVSA it's unprecedented. It's not as if anyone could have foreseen a huge rush of applications after testing ceased for three months.
Not to forget that three people in car is too dangerous except when the DVSA decide it suits them.
Instructors can't accompany L tests but Part 3 tests, Standards Checks, and Examiner QA checks on L tests are full steam ahead!
That's full steam ahead for the L tests that are actually being carried out mind you not the ones refused because there is a spec of dust in the car or because the ADI and pupil have been seen in the car not wearing a mask, or any of the other COVID "safety" excuses invented by examiners not to carry out a test.
After all who can blame them?
Unlike ADIs who had no income or 80% at most, DVSA staff had a three month fully paid holiday, and don't forget they still retain their full leave entitlement and sick pay.
And when they do deign to carry out a test, the latest procedure seems to be to have all the windows down in the pouring rain to ensure the interior our vehicles is soaked as much as possible.
Still at least the interior won't be any more damp when you get back in the car, as you'll already be soaked from standing outside in the rain waiting for the test to come back!
Please keep sharing this the petition amongst your colleagues, pupils who have been affected by the DVSA, and on social media.
