The last to be thought of

With Brexit on our doorstep and Parliament with no deal yet to purpose to the EU, us immigrants in the UK are left anxious and in a vulnerable position! Many of us have already started to think of going back to our countries of origin, despite feeling more like a British citizen than a citizen of the country in which we were born in or family is from. On top of this we are all having to apply and pay for a "settled or pre-settled" status application decided on by our government as a response to Brexit. We don't even get a say on which status we are classified in. Being classified as pre-settled status can affect job opportunities and access to healthcare. 

Now more than ever we need to make sure our voices are heard, so that our rights don't get stripped of any further, especially without the EU court and laws in place to ensure discrimination in the workplace based on race or citizenship is noticed and punished. Additionally, there will be no laws in place that all EU citizens have a right to work and live in this country anymore. We urgently need to tell Parliament that we are vast part of this society and a valuable addition to the UK, financially and culturally. Please continue to share this petition so that this may reach Parliament in time and gain more coverage- so far EU citizens (and immigrants from other parts of the world) have been spoken about by the media but not spoken to. Its time to change this.
