Help us add an adaptive 50m freestyle event to Utah High School Swim Championships.

For three years now I have had the privilege of coaching Amber Graves from Snow Canyon High School in St. George Utah. Amber is a hard worker, a great swimmer, and a wonderful team mate. She also happens to have Down Syndrome. Because of her disability, Amber will never qualify for State Championships. Over the last two years, the idea came to me that it would be an amazing thing if Utah High School Swimming could include a single heat of 50 Freestyles at the State Championships that would include adaptive athletes. That request was denied. I propose a qualifier for disabled equal to that of their like peers but obtainable and showcased in a single heat to celebrate and equally reward the few athletes that choose inclusion and work harder than most to be a member of their high school swim teams.
