The student workers of UCLA Dining Services are currently facing wage disparity in the workplace. The starting wage of a food service worker at UCLA Dining Services is $16.52 an hour. Though the student workers perform the same job responsibilities, we are paid $10.75 an hour. Adding to this injustice, we are also not paid overtime when we work more than forty hours a week. Our plea is simple: equal pay for equal work.
