THANK YOU to everyone who signed my petition this week and for all of your wonderful comments of support! Last night we reached 300 signatories! On March 19th, I sent a letter to UC Berkeley Chancellor Dirks outlining my demands to the University. I asked that he respond by March 27th - THIS Monday. If each of the 300 of you who signed the petition could get 5 more people to sign this weekend, Chancellor Dirks would see we have 1500 supporters by Monday morning! Can you reach out to five or more of your friends, family or colleagues and ask them to sign the petition? Posting on social media is great- but the best way to recruit supporters is personal contact by email, Facebook messenger or old-fashion face-to-face! In case you haven't seen it, my campaign for access was featured in an excellent news story by the Daily Moth this week (see below). The story is in ASL, but there is a transcripts in the comments for the signing-impaired ;). Also, we'd love to hear any of your ideas about how/where to promote the campaign and petition further. Thank you again for your tremendous support! Nancy Barker Visiting Student Researcher, Getz Lab Department of Environmental Science, Policy & Management University of California at Berkeley
