Two hours ago, Rainbow Six: Siege Esports' official twitter account posted a statement stating that they would be moving the August 2022 Major initially scheduled in UAE, a country known for its anti-LGBTQ+ government, to a different location entirely due to community response and feedback.
As such, we have declared victory.

When I initially created and shared this petition amongst my close circle; I did not anticipate the large influx of interest on Twitter yesterday via a large, co-ordinated social push from giants of the community. Community members that I not only look up to, but that I respect and love. We saw Talent, Employees, Content-Creators, Cosplayers, Artists, Players and more come together to share this petition.
To give you some transparency, the petition was signed over 13,600 times, viewed over 65,000 times, shared over 7,500 times and over 5 articles were written in relation to it.
These are numbers I did not expect, and I am eternally grateful.
To the people on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit and more who have shared, posted, commented, created and debated; I am forever thankful for your voices and I am glad that you and I have been heard.
To the MENA Community, I look forward to the day that we can come to a country that is safe for us as a community and celebrate Rainbow Six: Siege. Know that if anything similar to this happens again, I will be ready to fight for the diverse community that we are, and I am confident that I will be supported.
Love Wins.
Ellie
