Major Victory! My Ubisoft Account Has Been Recovered Thanks to SignalConso.
I have incredible news and a very positive development to share with everyone who signed and supported this petition!
Thanks to the pressure exerted through a formal report to SignalConso (the French Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control - DGCCRF), Ubisoft has acted, and my account has finally been recovered!
They have undone the hacker's changes, restoring my account access, password, and original email.
This resolution, achieved so quickly once the relevant French authority intervened, demonstrates two fundamental things:
- Ubisoft DOES have the capability and tools to reverse hacker changes and return an account to its rightful owner.
- The problem is not a technical impossibility, but a flaw in their standard support process, which prevents users from recovering their accounts directly and logically.
It's fantastic to have my account back, but it is absolutely unacceptable for a customer to have to resort to a governmental consumer protection agency for a company the size of Ubisoft to resolve such a basic account security issue. Ubisoft's verification process, which requires the user to interact with a hacker-controlled email, is flawed and illogical, and this experience confirms it.
Ubisoft should implement an account recovery system that works without the need for third-party intervention or reports to external authorities. The protection of our data and our investment in their games should be an inherent priority of their customer service, not a privilege obtained only after escalating to a government entity.
This individual victory is a step forward, but the fight for systemic change at Ubisoft continues.
Please, keep sharing this petition. Our goal is that no other player should have to go through the frustration of losing their account and the need to seek external help for a problem that the company itself should be able to resolve efficiently and securely.
