Thanks to your overwhelming support, on November 26 2018, the UAE granted Matt a presidential pardon and he safely returned home a day later.

Matt's integrity has been publicly questioned after he was unjustly accused, mistreated, trialled and sentenced for something he didn't do. This effectively means that until his sentence isn't legally revoked, Matt will face numerous travel and work restrictions and will thus be unable to live a normal life as the innocent man he has always been.

Being a state matter, the British government has openly denied the allegations against Matt. Now that he's free, we need to lawfully clear his name so that we can have a normal life, where Matt's academic legitimacy isn't questioned for a minute.
