Marijuana reform is much needed in Virginia. With education, sensible law reform, and responsible use marijuana legalization will be able to help out medically, economically, and agriculturally. The criminal system is another area that needs major reform as well. For states that have legalized medical and recreational use, the pros have far outweighed the misconceptions of this very useful plant.  Why make it legal in a recreational level? Recreational use of marijuana has shown to lower the use of opioids by addiction. Statistics show criminal incarceration has dramatically dropped. Law enforcement can focus there efforts toward actual crimes. For example, $81million of tax payers money is used yearly to enforce marijuana laws. This money can be better used within our state and community.
