I still have not prepared and released a statement to the press about our petition, but I did call one of my Senators, Dick Durbin, and told the staffer taking a tally that I am opposed to the Jeff Sessions nomination for Attorney General. I also informed the staffer about the petition. He seemed impressed by the 127K signatures. Of course, now we are up to 128K. Please keep it going. I've been an activist for 30 years and never have I felt so close to a major breakthrough in progressive reform. Maybe the old cliche is true... it's always darkest before the dawn. Or maybe necessity is the mother of invention. Now on the verge of losing our democracy and everything good it has stood for, we are closing ranks and standing together. Moving forward. A lot of us are new at this and will make mistakes. Some of us have been at it for awhile and will also make mistakes. Let's learn from those and not lose heart.
