New bill introduced in House that would overturn net neutrality

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R) of Tennessee has introduced legislation in the House which would block the Federal Communications Commission from implementing and enforcing its newly established net neutrality rules. Rep. Blackburn’s new bill states that the FCC's rules “shall have no force or effect” and prevents the FCC from ever addressing the issue again. As is trendy in Washington, Blackburn has named the bill the exact opposite of what it would actually do: the "Internet Freedom Act." Blackburn has been one of the top recipients in Congress of financial support from the nation's largest telecom and cable companies, including AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, and the cable industry's lobbying group NCTA. She is the poster child of lawmakers being bought by corporate interests who are opposed to net neutrality. Don't let corporate shills like Rep. Marsha Blackburn override the FCC's ability to do its job.
