First, Thank you! again! 6,600+ of us!! It means so much to have all of your support on this neglected vital issue that is affecting so many! We are getting there!! Thanks for all your support, signing, sharing this and those that have donated. And like I mentioned before, after seeing all the comments, it is even clearer how much we all need this!
As you may know, petitions alone do not necessarily make change. What does, is when that petition has so many supporters it just demands attention! & action with it. We are starting to see that happen. Movement is stirring and we just need to keep at it!
On your end: We must ask you, (& thank you if you have!) Would you take this to the next level, and do this little bit more to help get these numbers of signatures up even higher? 6,500+ is amazing! but let’s get more! For example, there are 32 million with food allergies alone, Let's find these people that these laws affect! As the numbers rise, so would the attention on this. We need every bit of it! Let these people that can change this, hear you even louder! We need to reach more people.
Would you:
1. Keep sharing! Would you get others to sign? Make a point to get 10 friends or family members to sign this?
2. Would you contact your senator or state rep? Ask them to sponsor our proposed bill. Tell them why you are supporting this & share the link to the petition (& my email: MarniBacker@yahoo.com).
4. As much as I hate to ask, maybe even consider donating just $3 to the petition. If each one of you did this one, we could expand who we reach further, as each dollar gets more views.
On our end: We are appreciating the help we are starting to receive:
•FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) is cheering us on and wants to see us get this passed.
•AAFA (Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America) is working to get better labeling as well, and is in contact with us, and hopefully we can continue to work together to get a sponsor.
•We are in touch with, and in process of finding a politician who will sponsor our proposed bill.
•We have meetings scheduled with prominent advocates for health and food safety, who are interested in discussing this more.
So, That is today’s gist. Moving along & working hard to get us the changes we seek as soon as possible! Thanks again for all of your signatures, and added efforts! We can’t wait! We all need this Law pack to pass now! Let’s Do this!
