Greg Burleson’s Statement from Federal Prison:
My name is Gregory P. Burleson and I am from Phoenix, Arizona where I was born and raised. I am currently serving a 68 year sentence in Federal prison in Allenwood, Pennsylvania. I was convicted and sentenced for responding to the Bundy protest in Bunkerville, Nevada on April 12, 2014.
I decided to go to the Bundy protest after I saw the videos of the BLM using their heavy handed techniques of slamming a woman to the ground, whom I found out was Cliven Bundy’s 60 year old sister who had cancer, the tazing of Ammon Bundy and the assault of Davey Bundy by throwing him to the ground grinding his face in the dirt. I knew it was my constitutional duty to come to the aid of my neighbor and stand with them against a tyrannical overreaching government. We are called to stand against tyranny and that is why I responded to the Bundy protest. I never drew my weapon nor pointed or fired it at anyone. I never came in personal contact or physical contact with any federal agent during the time I was there. I simply went to be there to fulfill what the U.S. Constitution calls me to do.
