Ban Blinding Headlights! NHTSA Headlight Rulemaking!

Dear Supporters,

On October 6, 2026, NHTSA announced that it intends to update FMVSS-108 to address headlight glare.  This is what we have been waiting for.  (https://www.nhtsa.gov/press-releases/modernize-outdated-vehicle-lighting-standards).

Comments are due by November 9, 2026. Applications and comments can be submitted at www.regulations.gov (Docket No. NHTSA-2026-1981).  As of this writing, the docket is not available, but our expectation is that the proposed regulation will be available in the 24-48 hours.
