Dear Supporters,
One of our supporters, Michelle Desreux, in Canada had significant media exposure this week. First, Michelle was featured in a CBC news article about a crash she experienced due to LED headlight glare. (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/headlight-brightness-concerns-9.7078226).
Second, Michelle was a guest on a podcast called The Current with Matt Galloway. (https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-63-the-current/clip/16197108-throwing-shade-super-bright-headlights). This podcast also included interviews with an optometrist, auto shop worker, and Daniel Stern of Lighting Vision News. This podcast is quite good. We are finally starting to hear the truth about LED headlights.
My one comment on the interview with Mr. Stern is that he places a lot of emphasis on headlamp alignment, but ignores the issue of curves, hills, bumps, and turns. Headlamp alignment does nothing to fix the extreme intensity problem or the blue wavelength problem of LED headlights.
We are now at a stage, where your personal voice can be heard. You can now go to your city council and request the same type of action on LED headlights that Victoria and Vancouver have taken, which is to have the Mayor send a letter to the federal regulators, asking them (Transport Canada or NHTSA) to fix the headlight problem.
Sincerely,
Mark Baker
