Dear Supporters,

Since NHTSA refuses to even investigate our complaints about LED headlights, I wrote a letter to David Harkey, President of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. https://www.softlights.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/IIHS-Notice-of-LEDs.pdf

The IIHS has a different role than NHTSA.  The IIHS member organizations are insurance companies who do not want to be paying out billions of dollars in damage claims.  In contrast to NHTSA and Ford, insurance companies actually do want safe vehicles and LED headlights put insurance company profits at risk.  So far, IIHS has been negligent and has not made their member groups aware of the risk of LED headlights, so I hope this letter will be a catalyst for change.
