Dear Supporters,

I just found out that NHTSA acting director Steven Cliff, the one who said he is too busy to meet with us, has signed a final rule allowing Adaptive Driving Beam because of pressure by auto industry lobbyists.

I am so angry, because this ADB system already has been shown not to work by NHTSA's own engineers, and because NHTSA has no regulations to limit the peak luminance of LEDs.  NHTSA still has never approved LED headlights, so this ADB approval is allowing a system based on illegal headlights and will not make us any safer or protect our eyes.

Once the rule is published in the Federal Register in the next few days, we will have 45 days to comment and object.  I will let you know when this becomes available.

In the meantime, we are building a coalition in Congress.  NHTSA is endangering our lives.  We need the US House Oversight Committee to oversee this.  Our contact in the House is staff member Brittany Lundberg, of Congressman Peter DeFazio's office, Chair of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.  I am asking that you call your Congress member at their Washington DC office and speak with a staff member about blinding LED headlights.  Have the staff member email Brittany to have them sign on to our efforts. brittany.lundberg@mail.house.gov
