I hope this message finds everyone well. Thanks to all of you my petition was successful in the end. And before we depart ways, I wanted to share one last update.

So much happened in the weeks after my mom was allowed to return to the U.S. For starters, she was granted a 30-day temporary humanitarian parole, which is unprecedented. Soon after she crossed the U.S.-Mexico border, I took her to pick up my little brother from his school. This was the first time my mom had the opportunity to do this. When she was barred for ten years in 2009, Bobby was only 4-years-old, too little to attend school. I wish all of you could have been there to see this.

Immediately after, we went to the hospital to visit my dad. I can not describe to you how precious this moment was for my mom and dad. It was beautiful, eternal, and humanizing.

My dad died shortly after. I believe he left in peace. My mom eventually had to return to Mexico. She is very grateful for all of you - without your support, nothing would have happened. I appreciate you.

National Public Radio’s Latino USA captured what life was like for my family during the 30 days my mom was in the U.S. I am posting the link here in case anyone is interested.

Peace,

Bill
