Recently, it has been made public that a certain political figure made disparaging remarks at several cemeteries. I find these comments disgusting and monstrous. Men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our country from enemies home and abroad and to defend the guarantees made in the Consitution. During my many visits to Civil War battlefields, my wife and I almost always visit a cemetery (if there is one present) to pay our respects to the brave men and women who gave their lives for the causes they fought for. 

When I am out shopping or at a restaurant I always visit with any active and retired personnel. My message is always the same: "Thank you for service." They humbly accept my thanks while there family and friends smile in appreciation. It's a small but very important act. Please join me in this salute.
