After nearly one-hundred and fifty years, women earned the right to vote with the passage of the nineteenth amendment. Today, Americans celebrate the one-hundredth anniversary of the passage granting women the vote. 

Although some progress has been made, women have not achieved their rightful equality. Women don't earn as much as their male counterparts, they don't fill many corporate leadership posts, and they are underrepresented in Congress. Old men control their body preventing women from making the difficult choice on birth control. It seems that every step forward is met with hostility. Clearly, the males who control our government fail to respect women and treat them as second class citizens. 

Signing this petition is only a small step in elevating women to their rightful position. However, it represents another victory for women's rights.
