Despite the long-standing dialogue between the Turkish Cypriot Presidential team and the British High Commission, within a diplomatic framework, it was not agreed to send Prince Charles to visit Northern Cyprus.

According to Haber Kıbrıs, it was conveyed to the British High Commission that the Turkish Cypriots wished for the Prince to visit their side.

Britain should be both morally and legally obligated as a guarantor and Commonwealth country to arrange meetings with both parties to the island, not just one!
