TODAY: Tweet @TysonFoods to end rapid growth & join protein’s future: plants!
Dec 28, 2017 — TODAY: Take part in our nationwide tweetstorm urging Tyson Foods to end the crippling rapid growth of birds -- and keep moving toward the future of food: cruelty-free plant protein! Use our sample tweet @TysonFoods below.
Just a day after Compassion Over Killing released a gut-wrenching new investigation of Tyson and called on the company to shift toward compassionate foods, the poultry giant announced it was doing just that: increasing its investment in plant protein maker Beyond Meat.
When CEO Tom Hayes was asked about this move, he proclaimed, “If you can’t beat them, join them.”
Hayes has also previously acknowledged that consumers are flocking toward vegan protein, with demand growing faster than that for meat.
Tyson’s investment in vegan protein is an encouraging move, but the company is still dragging its feet on a crucial next step: Tyson has yet to stop breeding birds to grow so unnaturally large, so quickly that they can suffer heart attacks and their fragile legs often collapse under the weight of their morbidly obese bodies -- all before they are even 2 months old.
Today, join us in tweeting @TysonFoods to become a true food leader by ending these atrocities once and for all and continuing to move toward the real future of food, vegan protein. Use our sample below or click here to tweet: https://ctt.ec/tSsnO
