Kia ora supporters. I have been to a meeting today that was also attended by Mayors Forbes and Campbell from Opotiki and Kawerau, deputy Mayor Turner of Whakatane, and the CEOs of our councils. I was allowed a special 5-minute speaking time to address the Bay of Plenty Joint Committee, and share our concerns. From this meeting I am expecting support. Tomorrow evening a small group of us are meeting to plan a door-knocking day to get some hard-copy signatures from residents and businesses in Coastlands, Landing Road, Hinemoa St and Taneatua.
