TUSD's proposed payout is 58% less than what it owes teachers.

TUSD is pushing teachers to vote to approve TUSD's proposal to pay teachers only $9.5 million of the $15 million in 301 performance money owed to the teachers. The $9.5 million payout is 58% less than what is owed teachers. TUSD is threatening that, if 70% of all the teachers don't vote to approve this plan by Friday, the 301 committee will have to start over,"making it more challenging to address the surplus during school year 2016-2017." The objective is to get the Board to approve the plan Tuesday Dec 13, before the new Board member takes office in January and before TUSD's external auditors are scheduled to appear before the Board.
