Stop Cruel Animal Catching Methods and Treatment in Malaysia! 

The PROBLEM with stray animals population are
- reproduction of the strays & reckless backyard breeding.
- the dumping of unwanted or old pets,
- irresponsible breeding of pets,
- lost or abandoned animals,

ANIMAL WELFARE COMMUNITY NEEDS HELP!
We appeal to the government to adopt a more humane solution in dealing with the stray animal population:

-  Strict prohibition of catching by shooting or harsh handling by local councils
-  Stop all outsourcing to dog catchers who are poorly trained and uses cruel catching methods
-  Adopt an effective and humane policy and guidelines for all the local councils. Trap, Neuter, Release and Manage is most effective method proven in many progressive countroes.
-  Nationwide Spay & Neuter programs. DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY SERVICES to offer vet and sterilisation services to the community. Pets (cats and dogs) must have a license from the local council with the veterinarian certificate of vaccination and sterilisation.
-  Impose mandatory sterilisation to reduce the population of animals.
-  Undertake an aggressive awareness and education campaign on animal welfare and responsible pet ownership programmes
-  Nationwide Spay & Neuter programs. DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY SERVICES to offer vet and sterilisation services to the community. Pets (cats and dogs) must have a license from the local council with the veterinarian certificate of vaccination and sterilisation.
-  Increase urgency on abuse cases and swift action from Department of Veterinary Services and relevant agencies is required. Higher penalties to be imposed on animal abuse and cruelty cases.
-  To impose a higher permit and licensing fees to businesses in selling and breeding of pets to discourage unlicensed and backyard breeders. High penalties to be imposed on errant and unlicensed breeders and sellers.
-  Create a strict guidelines to restrict and curb backyard breeding. Encourage adoption of pets instead.
-  Establish a working partnership with NGOs and/or local shelters are encouraged as stakeholders engagement is important for local government to achieve their objectives and benefits the community
