38-year-old LGBTQ+ civic leader and Democrat Alex Mohajer is proud to receive the endorsement of Run for Something (RFS), the groundbreaking organization that recruits and supports strong voices in the next generation of progressive leadership. He is running for California State Senate ahead of the March 5 Primary and will be the first openly gay Iranian man elected anywhere in the world.

"I am honored to earn this endorsement and join the ranks of some truly remarkable candidates and elected officials that represent the diverse, progressive coalition that makes up the next generation of elected leaders," said Mohajer. "We are going to win this seat and prove that Orange County is ready for the next generation to take the wheel.”

RFS co-founder Ross Morales Rocketto shared, "2024 will be the year in which our democracy will be on the ballot. Amanda Litman and Ross Morales Rocketto launched RFS in 2017 with a simple premise: help young diverse progressives to run for down-ballot races in order to build a progressive bench for the future. RFS aims to lower the barriers to entry for talented, passionate young people by helping them with seeding money, organization building, and access to the trainings needed to be successful.  

Mohajer has centered his campaign on reforms to the Democratic Party as well as affordable housing, climate change, health care, mental health, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and economic policies that lift up working-class families. He is also centering public safety and the need to solve crime at its root by tackling income inequality and lack of access to education, healthcare, and housing.
