The desire to do it, but It's just been lying in wait for the right opportunity opportunity. The Democrats will not expend precious political capital on impeachment efforts knowingly when they simply do not have the votes in the House to accomplish this task. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi projected as much when responding to recent efforts by Reps. Al Green and Brad Shermann to introduce impeachment articles when she said "now is not the time." What she means is when we have the votes. She projected to the American people that if this is what you want, you have to vote Democrat in the upcoming 2018 mid-term elections and help Democrats take back the House and Senate. And then, something happened earlier this week that no one could expect. IN a sign that the resistance is holding, a DEMOCRAT won the Alabama Special Election to fill the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by Jeff Sessions when he was appointed Attorney General by Donald Trump. This is a state that went to Donald Trump +30% in the 2016 presidential election and that hasn't elected a Democrat to high office since 1992. This was an amazing victory.
