We've won the first round!
After the Liberals, Greens, AJP and LCV all spoke up for the community and said they wouldn't support a 21 day Albert Park lockout, the Allan Government has withdrawn the Bill from the Upper House, rather than risk defeat.
It's a black eye for the arrogant Labor Government and the AGPC, who thought they could just ram whatever they wanted through Parliament, without consideration of its impact on the community.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the fight against this intrusive, excessive and unjustified legislation.
The Government now has a month before the Upper house sits again. They need to decide how they're going to limit the Grand Prix's impact on Albert Park, and how they will balance their massive taxpayer-funded spending on a four-day event, with their minimal investment to protect the Park for the 7.4 million visits taking place on the other 361 days of the year.
WE CAN'T STOP NOW!
