Many endangered species are still being eaten, including bluefin tuna, sharks, whale, sea turtles, and many more. I have for twenty years avoided eating anything that is on the WWF endangered species list (https://www.worldwildlife.org/species/directory). Unfortunately on a recent trip to Japan, my streak was broken by going to a restaurant recommended by tripadvisor.com and eating a serving of bluefin tuna sashimi when the restaurant only labeled the dish as "tuna" and left the "bluefin" part out. 

I might have a partial solution to helping these endangered species. While many have tried and failed to convince all the restaurants in the world to stop serving endangered species, we can certainly provide the information to help individuals who would like to eat responsibility and conscientiously do so. I am partitioning tripadvisor.com to encourage reviewers to note whether restaurants served endangered species and give the option to omit these restaurants in the search. The responsible restaurants, travelers, diners, and Mother Nature will all be grateful.
