On 20 September 2018, the Supreme Court of Trinidad and Tobago ruled that homosexuals have a constitutional right to equality before the law and respect to private life. The government has indicated that it will not proceed with EOA amendments to protect homosexuals until the Appeals Court gives a final judgement, however the legislation has been drafted.
