Need affordable Keele accommodation so students aren't priced out!

On-campus accomodation at Keele, especially Ensuite rooms such as the 'New Barnes Premier Ensuite' priced at over £6000, are unaffordable for most students and don't offer value for money. Comparable accomodation at local universities such as Manchester and Birmingham offer similar Ensuite accomodation at a cheaper price compared to Keele.
In these current times, where rising tuition fees are a massive concern, with increasing number of students struggling to buy the essentials to live & study and falling into debt, the university has a social responsibility to provide affordable & value for money accomodation on-campus across its room types.
On behalf of the student body at Keele, I'm calling on Keele university and the vice chancellor Trevor McMillan to listen to our concerns regarding the affordability of accomodation on-campus, avoid pricing students out & introduce a fair price structure for on-campus accomodation at Keele.
