Yesterday for Fouks Farms was the most difficult day in all of our history as farmers. We said goodbye to the herd of 120 cows and have become a statistic of the ever growing farmers quitting. It got to be too much and Mom and Dad couldn’t afford to keep the doors open anymore at $12 per CWT. No money to pay the employees to feed the cows and no money to feed the cows since they have been out of corn for quite some time and we were told that selling the cows now was in our best interest due to cow prices being higher than normal. Unfortunately there wasn't much money brought in from the sale of the cows either. At this point the Go Fund Me (http://gofundme.com/save-fouks-farms has a new lofty goal of $1.4 million because if we don’t set our hopes high, there will be bankruptcy and a loss of all of their retirement which means they will be working for the rest of their lives and still trying to support my grandparents. I know I may be begging for help but my parents have put so much hard work into farming only to loose it all was never the intention, it was to grow the industry of farming.
