Please keep sharing the word! Thanks to your help, the U.S. House of Representatives voted down its highly flawed Farm Bill. It's a relief to see this bill defeated - at a time when farmers and ranchers are in significant financial strain due to years of depressed prices, this bill would not have made necessary improvements to the farm safety net. It would have eliminated conservation programs and funding that provide farmers with the tools they need to be the best possible stewards of our natural resources. It would have reversed progress toward expanding farmers' access to local, regional, and specialty markets. And it would have made unnecessary cuts to programs that feed hungry Americans. We appreciate the work you've done to let Congress know that farmers, rural communities, hungry Americans, and the environment deserve a better bill than this. But there's still more to do - the Senate is expected to markup its own version of the Farm Bill on June 6, and the House will likely vote again on its bill on June 22. Before they do, they need to hear from you that the Farm Bill is important to you.
