TV, radio, social media and other news outlets do a good job of raising awareness about social and political issues, but casting a ballot on Election Day is equally important if we, as a country, want to create change. That being said, getting to the polls on Election Day is easier said than done for some people.

I am asking the CEOs of ride-share giants, Uber and Lyft, to consider offering discounted rides to and from the polls on Election Day in the US.

I am hoping that this will increase voter turnout and strengthen our democracy. Every citizen should have the opportunity to vote on social and political issues that affect them, even if they cannot provide reliable transportation to and from the polls.
