Quiero expresar mi más profunda preocupación por lo que está sucediendo en el yacimiento arqueológico de Marroquíes Bajos, la primigenia Jaén. Debe parar inmediatamente cualquier construcción urbanística pública o privada como corresponde a un lugar declarado Bien de Interés Cultural con protección integral. En particular debe de ser protegida la gran ciudad de la Edad del Cobre que allí se ha descubierto y que sería la mayor del continente europeo con alta ingeniería hidráulica y defensiva, además de un diseño único en forma de círculos concéntricos.
El pueblo de Jaén y la comunidad científica del mundo entero tenemos el deber de preservar este tesoro cultural para la investigación y el disfrute de las futuras generaciones. Es además una forma de honrar a los fundadores de una antiquísima civilización única en Occidente que ahora es un legado de toda la humanidad.

I want to express my deepest concern about what is happening in the archaeological site of Marroquies Bajos, the ancient Jaen. It should immediately stop any public or private urban construction as it corresponds to a place declared Asset of Cultural Interest with integral protection. In particular, the great city of the Copper Age that has been discovered there and that would be the largest of the European continent with high hydraulic and defensive engineering, as well as a unique design in the form of concentric circles.
The people of Jaén and the scientific community of the whole world have a duty to preserve this cultural treasure for research and enjoyment of future generations. It is also a way to honor the founders of an ancient unique civilization in the West who is now a legacy of all humanity.
