This morning I met virtually with the key local politicians who will be closely involved in progressing plans with TFL regarding the campaign to Make Battersea Bridge Safe To Cross.

On the Teams call was Greg Hands (local MP), Tony Devenish (London Assembly Member for West Central) and Councillor Johnny Thalassites (RBKC lead member for Planning, Place and The Environment), plus three assistants.

I fully briefed everyone on my discussions and actions agreed during the meeting with TFL officers yesterday. This included all the information already posted here, some insight into the ever-growing support for the campaign, plus my humble (!), layman's views on what might be the best way forward.

I was pleased to hear so much enthusiasm and commitment from everyone and their unqualified support for the campaign. There was even some kind observations made as to the swift progress made in less than two weeks, after years of inaction.

The three principals at the meeting are talking with Commissioner Andy Byford today and Greg Hands will issue an update on any further progress later.

My parting plea at the end of our meeting was: "Be Positive First. And do not let the politics get in the way of progress!"  (RM 29/1/20)
