Quick report: Today, I wrote a detailed memo for TFL officer's in advance of tomorrow's virtual meeting. This includes background, an illustration of the crossroads, and a summary of the safety issues. I have sent this to officers, so that they can be across everything in advance of the meeting. This will help us progress faster and make the meeting more worthwhile.
As they will not have been able to visit Battersea Bridge, I have also sent an edited compilation of film clips I have taken over the past couple of weeks that clearly illustrate near-misses and the basic reasons why this crossroads is such a dangerous shambles for pedestrians on all four arms, most notably at the north end of the Bridge.
I have also outlined some potential objectives for the short term, as well as for the longterm. Hence, we have many aspects to discuss. I appreciate that I am coming at this as a pedestrian and a resident, not a traffic expert, but I believe that some of these objectives are doable and should at least be modelled by the experts. Equally, I note a comment from the Commissioner that any changes must be done carefully, so that they do not lead to "unintended consequences".
Also, I have only today noticed that there is a 'Comments' section beneath the Updates page. I am sorry for not replying of 'Liking' any of the messages before. All information, support and encouragement from supporters has been read and is gratefully received. To avoid any future oversights like this in our tech department, I will be downloading an update for the McSoftware. Thanks. RM 27/1/20
