Important Update Regarding Privacy and Safety & Revision to Petition
Hello Everyone,
As a concerned citizen launching this petition, I believe deeply in systemic transparency and accountability. However, I also know that speaking out on issues like election integrity and human rights can unfortunately make individuals targets for online harassment and doxxing. Your safety and privacy are a priority, and I should have addressed this upfront.
If you are planning to sign, or if you have already signed and want to ensure your name is hidden from the public internet, here is how you can protect your privacy:
If you are signing for the first time:
Simply uncheck the box that says "Display my name and comment on this petition" right before you click the sign button. Your support will still count toward our collective goal, but your identity will remain private from public view.
If you have already signed and want to hide your name now, you can use one of these official platform workarounds to shield your identity:
Option 1 (Log In to Unsign & Re-Sign): Log into your Change.org account, navigate to Settings, and select Manage Assets. Find this petition under "Signed Petitions" and click Unsign. (Alternatively, you can click the "Remove your signature" link at the bottom of your original email confirmation). Once removed, return to the petition page, uncheck the privacy box, and sign again.
Option 2 (Use Initials or a Pseudonym): Log into your account, go to your Profile Settings, and change your public display name to your initials or a pseudonym. Change.org explicitly allows this to protect your privacy, and it will instantly update the public page to hide your real name.
It's my understanding that unchecking the public box will hide your name from the public internet and search engines. On my creator dashboard, I will only see basic details needed to verify the petition's validity, but your email address remains completely hidden from me. Your confidential information will never be shared publicly by me.
I also want to inform you that I will be making a slight revision in the second paragraph of the petition text to qualify the phrasing more accurately. The core meaning remains completely unchanged.
Thank you again for your courage and your shared commitment to the truth.
Mahalo,
Diana
