Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in reimagining the tennis courts at Pickett Park as a skateable space! I really appreciate seeing this kind of passion and community involvement.

We’re absolutely interested in talking more with the folks behind this petition. We did install some temporary skatepark elements over the summer to see how the community would respond, and the result was promising — we saw organic engagement and strong interest from local skaters.

We’d love to have a conversation about how we can safely activate this space together. It can be a challenge to discover a large ramp or feature that appears in the park without notice, but that passion and initiative show how much this space means to the community.

Pickett Park is a space that could really benefit from more activity and energy. In my view, skaters are friends of the park. You keep it busy, help us maintain visibility, and bring new life to our public spaces. Give us a chance to match your passion in this space.
