Save Jackson’s Boat foot bridge

Save Jackson’s Boat foot bridge

The Issue

Jackson’s Boat foot bridge was built  circa 1881 and is a much loved local land mark.

It has survived two world wars but is now under threat of demolition from Trafford Council.

Their view is that the bridge cannot be adapted to provide disabled access nor does it provide enough space to suppport a new planned cycle network. We the undersigned dispute this.

We ask that Trafford Council review the decision to demolish this local, historical, landmark and explore alternative options keeping the bridge in place.
