What a fantastic achievement, to receive so much support in such a short space of time. There was a big boost from social media yesterday evening, thank you to all those involved. Also a quick shout out to The Murky Depths, who has written an excellent blog post on our petition. There is a such a strong sense that the community do not want this betting shop, but it's up to each of us as residents to make our voices heard. Data produced from the Gambling Commission shows that £7,448,542 was lost by gamblers in Greenwich on Fixed Odds Betting Terminals between 2015-2016. There are an estimated 110 of these machines in the borough, 2O of which are around our high street.
