With a thriving food culture consisting of many different restaurant options, and a thriving gourmet food truck scene, Orlando is quickly becoming a foodie haven. Central Florida has an appetite for local, natural, and organic food that rivals any bigger markets. I had heard about Trader Joe's, but recently went to Monrovia, CA (where I found out the company is based) and we fell in love with Trader Joe's. My wife is now having withdrawals. We are avid Whole Foods shoppers, but Trader Joe's was a better experience in our opinion. Loved it. I don't agree with what has been said that the company will not expand to our area given lack of foodie culture knowledge, and subscriptions to gourmet magazines and services. We like our food in Orlando, and want to have the best stuff around. Trader Joe's would be a necessary and welcome addition to our food culture. I know we will stop going to Publix and Whole Foods if we had one close by. Please reconsider your decision to not come into the Orlando market for the next two years. We have ample vacant places to open a good store, and you have seen the response to the store in Naples and the news of the store in Sarasota. Yeah, those markets may have more money than Central Florida, but with the huge population of transplants in Orlando it would be a shame to ignore this budding foodie market. With all our transplants, and more to come with the Medical City (all high paying jobs), ignoring Orlando would be like ignoring NYC. I moved here from NYC, and I feel that the population is as diverse as NYC culturally and in food. BRING TRADER JOE'S TO ORLANDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
