Keep Adult-Oriented Collectibles In Your Stores

This week, Toys R Us made the decision to pull Breaking Bad toys from their shelves, in the wake of one angry parent complaining about the show's not-so-family-friendly nature.

The problem with this troubling PR move is that it fails to recognize that there are toys for children and toys for children at heart, with Breaking Bad and other adult-oriented figures falling into the latter category.

Adult collectors comprise a large portion of the Toys R Us customer base, and by removing the toys we come in to buy, you're telling us that you no longer want us shopping there. Your telling us that our hobbies don't fit in line with your vision, and that our toys are somehow unfit to line your shelves.

I think it goes without saying that toys/action figures/collectibles pose no threat or harm to children or anyone else, and so it's fairly illogical to suggest otherwise. The beauty of Toys R Us is that they sell toys for all ages, and to demolish that 'US' concept robs US all of the freedom to buy the toys we want to buy.

Please sign to join me in asking Toys R Us to continue selling adult-oriented collectibles, and toys of all kinds. Let them know that you were a Toys R Us kid, and you wish to remain one as an adult.
