Toyota pledged support for supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and went against their word by sticking with their awful Entune system. Toyota needs to leave consumer electronics to true innovators like Apple and Google; Toyota is not an infotainment company nor should be. It would be extremely easy to add CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Customers would then have a choice to use the system that suits their needs best. Dozens of other auto manufactures have already implemented CarPlay successfully without detracting from the OEM baseline software. Additionally, because this is a software update existing Toyota customers should be eligible to upgrade their current systems to enjoy this newly added capability.
