More than eight years after the police closed PIP on the order of the French regulator, Jean-Claude Mas & the Directors of PIP were found GUILTY of AGGRAVATED FRAUD by the French Supreme Court today.
It's the first of two cases brought by victims against the owner and directors of PIP and the German regulator TÜV Rheinland.
The decision in the second case is due 10 October 2018. This global claim in France is against the privately-owned German regulator TÜV Rheinland. TÜV Rheinland licensed PIP with a CE mark for over a decade after the US ban on PIP, following a failed inspection in 2000.
Hundreds of thousands of women and babies have suffered trauma and injury relating directly to their exposure to the toxins found in contaminated PIP.
